Edina High School Concert Band proudly presents its
50th
Annual Pops Concert

"POPS ... A
GOLDEN CELEBRATION" was presented on February 21, 22, 27, 28, March 1 and 2,
2003. Dr. Timothy Mahr, nationally-known composer and conductor of the St. Olaf
College Band, conducted his new concert band composition entitled
"Sssssplashhhhh!!!" celebrating 50 years of Edina Pops concerts. Special
alumni guest performers and conductors included Butler Eitel, Ed Melichar, Stan
Freese, Scott Crosbie, Sara and Amy Hamann, and Phil Holm.

POPS REUNION BANQUET CELEBRATION

A
50th Pops reunion banquet celebration was held Saturday,
March 1, 2003 at the Edina Country Club with nearly
600 guests in attendance. The program included dinner,
musical entertainment by South Side Big Band, video and picture
displays and guest appearances by Butler Eitel,
Ed Melichar, Bill Webb, Stan Freese '62, Scott Crosbie
'70, Phil Holm '81, Kristina Harter Terhaar '89, and Superintendant
Ken Dragseth to name just a few.
Thanks to everyone who made this 50th Pops such a wonderful
celebration--it was truly a "GOLDEN CELEBRATION!
